Simon Correggia

Simon is a Partner in Deutsch Miller’s Corporate team with more than 12 years’ experience advising clients on private M&A, capital raising, venture capital, cross-border transactions, corporate structuring and corporate governance. He works closely with founders, investors, owner-managed businesses, emerging and growth companies and mid-market corporates on a broad range of corporate transactions and strategic commercial matters.

Simon has extensive experience across the full investment lifecycle, including capital raisings, venture capital investments, acquisitions, disposals, secondary sales, corporate restructures, management buy-outs, employee incentive plans and shareholder governance matters. He regularly assists domestic and international clients on complex transactions and strategic business initiatives across the technology, transport, manufacturing and agribusiness sectors.

Simon has developed a recognised specialist practice advising co-operatives and mutual enterprises. He regularly advises on the formation, registration, governance and compliance of co-operatives and has acted for large-scale irrigation co-operatives, water infrastructure operators, agribusinesses, port operators, marine and aviation service providers and other member-owned enterprises. Drawing on his background in water law, Simon also advises large-scale irrigators and water-related organisations on governance, structural and regulatory matters.

Before joining Deutsch Miller, Simon worked at K&L Gates and other boutique Australian law firms, advising clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. He holds an LL.B. (European Legal Studies in Italian) from King’s College London and the University of Bologna and is fluent in Italian.

Simon combines specialist expertise in co-operatives and water-related enterprises with broad corporate transactional experience, enabling him to support clients through growth, investment, governance and ownership transitions. He is known for his responsive, commercial and pragmatic approach and his ability to deliver clear, strategic advice tailored to his clients’ objectives.

Outside of his legal practice, Simon enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, playing golf and tennis, and following Juventus F.C.
